A Bird’s-Eye View on Confucian Classics Studies in the West

On November 11, Professor David B. Honey, a famous sinologist from the Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages of Brigham Young University in the US, was invited to give a talk at Tsinghua History Forum. The talk hosted by Professor Cheng Gang from the History Department was titled “Studying Classics and Cultivating Oneself: A Bird’s-Eye View on the History of Confucian Classics Studies in the West.” After the talk, Professor Honey gave as a gift a copy of his Chinese bookXifang jingxueshi gailun(A General Introduction to the History of Confucian Classics Studies in the West) to the History Department.
