Educational background
Born in 1969, he studied literature in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at both Lanzhou University and Shandong University and earned his doctoral degree.
Work experience
In 1997, he joined People’s Literature Publishing House, where he served as Director of the Classical Literature Department and later as Deputy Chief Editor. In late 2020, he moved to Zhonghua Book Company as Chief Editor, and in 2022, he took on the roles of Executive Director and Party Secretary. In May 2023, he became a professor in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Tsinghua University.
With extensive experience in the publication and research of classical literature, he specializes in Ming and Qing dynasty literature. Recognized as part of the “Four Batches” Talent Program sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, he also serves as Vice President of the Chinese Ming Dynasty Literature Research Association, a Standing Director of the Chinese Society for the Study of A Dream of Red Mansions and a member of the editorial board of Journal of Studies on “A Dream of Red Mansions”, as well as a member of the Academic Committee of the Guizhou Confucius Academy.
