Zhao Jing is a full professor in the Department of History at the School of Humanities, Tsinghua University. He graduated from China University of Political Science and Law, and earned the degrees of Bachelor of Law, Master of Law and PhD in Law. His research centers on legal history of the Tang-Song period (618-1276).

He is the author of two books, The Tiansheng Statutes and Legal Systems in the Tang-Song Period(Paperback, Shanghai: 2014; Hardcover, Shanghai: 2020) and Sanchi Chunqiu: A Collection of Reviews on Legal History(Simplified Chinese, Beijing: 2019; Traditional Chinese, Taipei:2020).
