Educational background

Li Xinran, born in Shantou, Guangdong Province, 1986, is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Tsinghua University. He received his Ph.D. in History from Peking University in 2015. His primary research interests are intellectual and academic history of modern China.

Work experience

The courses he teaches include Intellectual History of Modern China, Seminar on the Introduction to Historical Material of Late Qing Period, and Topics on Modern Chinese History. He has published works of Against All Heterogeneities: Guo Songtao and the View of Culture Competition (Peking University Press, 2020), as well as several academic papers in Modern Chinese History Studies, Literature, History, and Philosophy, Journal of Tsinghua University (Philosophy and Social Sciences), and other journals.
