Song Jijie was born in 1969. He received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is now a tenured professor of the Department of Philosophy at Tsinghua University.

His main research areas are ancient Greek philosophy and the history of western metaphysics. His current area of interest includes the Platonic Cosmology, Greek Philosophy of Language, etc..

He has published The Craft of Logos: A Linguistic perspective on Greek Philosophy(2013) and Heidegger’s Deconstruction Of The History of Ontology(2008), he edited the book Being and the Western Philosophical Tradition (2 volumes, 2002). He is also the translator of Classical Philosphy (Irwin, 2024), Plato’s Timaeus(2023), After Virtue (2002), and Understanding American Fundamentalism and Evangelicalism (Central Compilation and Translation Press, 2004),etc.
