Brief Introduction

Gao Haibo received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Peking University in 2008. He is an Tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Tsinghua University and is qualified to advise doctoral students. Prior to coming to Tsinghua in 2013, he worked at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(中国社会科学院, 2008-2013) and was a visiting scholar in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University(2011–2012). He currently serves as Secretary-General of the China Zhu Xi Studies Association(中华朱子学会) and Vice President of the Chuanshan Research Society(船山研究会) under the China Confucius Studies Association(中华孔子学会). His primary research interests are in Song-Ming Neo-Confucianism and modern Chinese philosophy. He is the author of A Study on the Philosophical Thought of Liu Jishan (SDX Joint Publishing Company, 2016) and A Methodological Study in the History of Modern Chinese Philosophy (Tsinghua University Press, 2021). He has also published more than fifty academic papers in Philosophical Researches(《哲学研究》), Philosophical Trends(《哲学动态》), and Morality and Civilization (《道德与文明》).
